The Chicago Police Department has issued a missing person alert for 21-year-old Tamika Cross, who was last seen over six weeks ago in the vicinity of the 1600 block of W. 77th St., according to an official announcement on their website. Heightened concerns prevail as Cross has been unreachable since January 23, 2025, prompting authorities to urge the public to come forward with any relevant information.
Described as an African American woman with a medium brown complexion, Cross is approximately 5'3" tall and weighs around 100 lbs.; her distinguishing characteristics include brown eyes, black hair styled into dreadlocks, and identifiable tattoos—an "A" is discreetly placed behind her left ear and the name "Lonetta" adorns her right arm, details outlined in the alert by the Chicago Police Department. At the time of her disappearance, she was clad in a gray jacket and hoodie; the specifics of her clothing may provide additional clues for those attempting to locate her.
Authorities from Area Two Special Victims Unit are handling the investigation, and they have encouraged anyone with information to contact them directly at (312) 747-8274 or to dial 911 for immediate assistance.
