Clark County is gearing up for its upcoming April Special Election, with a critical step in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the voting process set to take place later this month. The Elections Office has announced that logic and accuracy tests for accessible voting units and the ballot tabulation programming are scheduled for 10 am on March 18 at 1408 Franklin St.
The public testing, a mandated procedure under Washington state law, is open for observation by not only members of the media and candidates but also jurisdictional representatives and the general populace. Ballots will then be mailed out to registered voters in select areas starting April 1, and returned ballots will journey through these systems that are now being tested, as Clark County detailed.
Residents of the City of Camas, City of Washougal, Battle Ground School District, and Hockinson School District who are registered to vote will be engaged in this election. They are, in effect, the participating audience in a procedure that aims to reaffirm faith in the sanctity of their votes—the ballot preparations that ensue are an anticipation of their voices, their choices, ready to be heard.
