Clarksville residents get ready to clean out your yards because the city's annual Spring Cleanup is knocking at your door. Starting March 31, until May 12, the City of Clarksville Street Department will offer free yard waste removal services for those residing within city limits, the city announced on their official website.
The initiative aims to encourage citizens to maintain and beautify their properties after the end of winter. To make use of the service, residents must ensure that their waste meets the criteria for pick up, which includes grass clippings, leaves, and limbs in biodegradable paper bags or cardboard boxes, and larger limbs cut below eight feet in length and 18 inches in diameter. Notably, the service will not handle tree stumps or limbs that have been professionally trimmed.
Scheduling a pick up is simple. Beginning on March 31, residents can contact the Street Department at (931) 645-7464 during normal business hours. Alternatively, there's a pick up line at (931) 472-3353 where you can leave your address and the specifics of your yard waste," the announcement states. The yard waste should be placed within 10 feet of the curb but not in the street or obstructing the flow of traffic or drainage.
To ensure your waste is collected, remember to call within the designated time from March 31 to May 12. For any additional information or if you have questions or concerns regarding the clean up, the Clarksville Street Department can be reached at (931) 645-7464 from Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
