Convicted Felon Arrested in Nashville with Firearms and Drugs After Police ChaseSource: Metropolitan Nashville Police Department

Last night, detectives from the Violent Crimes Division apprehended 23-year-old convicted felon Christopher Watson following a high-speed chase that ended on Century Farms Boulevard. Watson, who attempted to evade the authorities twice, was found in possession of a firearm and sizable amounts of narcotics inside his Tesla. According to an official statement from the Nashville Police, Watson's evasion began Tuesday evening on Haywood Lane at Apache Trail and continued until Wednesday morning when he again fled from a police-initiated traffic stop.

The pursuit culminated with the Tesla's incapacitation by detectives, at which point Watson exited the vehicle, and attempted to flee on foot, he was quickly apprehended. Upon his arrest, officers discovered a loaded handgun along with over $2,300 in cash, and a substantial cache of drugs, including crack cocaine, methamphetamine, powdered fentanyl, fentanyl pills, Xanax, and marijuana. In total, Watson was found carrying nearly 40 grams of fentanyl, an amount that hints at not just personal use but the shadows of distribution, a scourge that afflicts our city streets.

As reported by the Nashville Police Department, Watson was previously convicted for selling fentanyl in the year 2023. His most recent arrest adds a litany of charges to his record, including five counts of drug possession, three counts of evading arrest, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and felony weapon possession among others.

The judicial system has him now in its grasp, Watson remains behind bars, held on a $137,000 bond.
