A fire engulfed a mobile home in Davie, displacing a family of twelve and sending a 10-year-old boy, Isaiah Salome, to the hospital with significant burns. The blaze, which erupted yesterday afternoon in the Western Hills Estates neighborhood, quickly consumed the structure in the 600 block of Southwest 132nd Terrace. According to a Local 10 report, family member Alexandrea Vallejo said, "Around 4 o'clock I heard a pop go off." Vallejo continued, describing the moment as her nephew emerged from his room engulfed in flames that proved "too big to put out."

The family, consisting of six children, is now without a home after the fire left it uninhabitable. Davie Fire Rescue took Isaiah to the hospital as a trauma-alert patient, and his aunt believes he was trying to plug something into an outlet in his room when the fire ignited, as stated in the same Local 10 report. Vallejo expressed relief that the children were safe and that some were not at home during the incident. Home surveillance footage showed Salome attempting to hose down the flames on himself. He sustained second-degree burns to his arms and legs but is expected to make a full recovery.

"I thank God my kids are OK and everyone else got out safe," Vallejo recounted in a statement obtained by WSVN. The aftermath of the fire presents a challenge for the Vallejo family as they deal with the loss of their home of 14 years and the uncertainty of their immediate future. Vallejo shared that the three generations living in the mobile home must now find alternative living arrangements, with some children temporarily staying with neighbors.

Footage of the aftermath revealed the mobile home's interior completely destroyed, with the wooden frame damaged and furnishings burned beyond recognition. Despite the extensive damage, Vallejo's nephew could only say, "I'm sorry," reflecting the emotional impact of the event. The state fire marshal and investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire. In response to the family's situation, the Red Cross is offering assistance, and a GoFundMe campaign has been created to help with expenses, available through WSVN's reporting platform.
