The Tennessee Department of Transportation confirmed that Exit 79, which leads to Armory Drive, was shut down due to an ongoing police investigation following a crash. According to a statement detailed by WSMV, the disruption began earlier in the evening, and clearance was not expected until 10:30 p.m.
Traffic was impacted significantly, with the northbound exit ramp and the right shoulder of I-65 North blocked due to the incident. A TDOT spokesperson, Erin Zeigler, indicated that the crash involved a single vehicle, which was reported around 6 p.m. at the Armory Drive exit. The WKRN team contacted the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) and the Tennessee Highway Patrol for additional details.
