A somber air has settled over Fall River following a shooting on the 900 block of Rodman Street that left a 20-year-old male dead. In an incident that has jolted the community, the Fall River Police Department stated that a family member of the victim is now in custody. The shooting, which seems to stand as an isolated event, prompted a swift response from the local police after receiving a distressing 911 call.

Officers responded quickly to a reported shooting and found a victim with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby trauma center but sadly later died. The Fall River Police, along with Massachusetts State Police and homicide prosecutors from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, are now investigating the incident.

The identity of the victim and the family member in custody have not been released as of the time of reporting. The community reels from the shock, as the police department's message reminds citizens that while the situation is contained, a family mourns the abrupt end to a life barely begun. The Fall River Police Department conveyed their condolences and called for unity and compassion, saying, "This is a tragic loss of life, and our deepest sympathies go out to the victim’s family."
