Memorial Hospital Miramar recently marked its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of service to the South Florida community. As part of the celebration, the hospital welcomed back Mackenzie Cleary, the first baby born there in 2005. Now 20 years old and a nursing student, Cleary’s return symbolized the hospital's history of delivering over 67,000 babies, as per the WSVN report.
During the celebration, Cleary was given a stethoscope to honor her new path in healthcare. In a statement to WSVN, she said, "It felt so special just seeing everyone and knowing that they’re all here to like celebrate me and the whole hospital." Memorial Hospital Miramar CEO, Stephen Demers, acknowledged Cleary’s unique connection to the hospital and the number of families it has served.
The hospital also celebrated online, posting a message and birthday wish for Cleary on their Instagram. The post highlighted Cleary’s birth on the hospital’s opening day and the hospital’s commitment to serving families for the past 20 years.
