Miami-Dade County Animal Services has launched the free Wellness on Wheels (WOW) Mobile Veterinary Clinic to provide essential veterinary care to underserved areas in the county. The clinic targets regions with limited access to pet healthcare, known as veterinary deserts, as per the Miami-Dade County Animal Services release.
The WOW Mobile Clinic offers a variety of services, including vaccinations, boosters, deworming, flea prevention, and referrals for spay and neuter surgeries. The clinic will operate on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
On April 7, the clinic will be stationed at the Jorge Mas Canosa Youth Center, 250 SW 114 Ave, Sweetwater, FL 33174. The clinic operates Monday through Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and is closed Thursday through Sunday and during county holidays.
The program is supported by the Friends of Miami Animals Foundation Inc. through vehicle donations and grant funding. For more information, visit the Animal Services Department website, call 311, or follow @adoptmiamipets on social media.
