Residents and commuters in Hialeah, FL, should prepare for traffic disruptions this weekend as the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) installs a new 54-inch water main along the Red Road/West 49th Street service road. According to City of Hialeah official reports, road closures will impact both eastbound and westbound traffic on West 49th Street at the West 4th Avenue service road.
The closures will begin at 8:00 PM tonight, and are expected to reopen by 6:00 AM on Monday. Eastbound traffic will be diverted to West 8th Avenue, and westbound traffic will be redirected to West 4th Avenue.
This infrastructure project is intended to improve water quality, increase water pressure, and enhance fire protection services for the local community.
