The temperature should fall to around 39 degrees by the afternoon, accompanied by a west wind blowing at 9 to 13 mph, gusts as high as 23 mph possible.
Looking ahead to tonight, the skies are set to clear, trending towards mostly clear conditions with lows near 29 degrees. The wind is expected to calm, coming in gently from the northwest. The new week kicks off with sunshine on Monday and a pleasant temperature increase, with a high nearing 54 degrees. Monday night will remain clear, with lows positioned around 42 degrees.
By Tuesday, Indianapolis residents can enjoy even warmer weather with mostly sunny skies and a high approaching 69 degrees. "South wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph," the forecast warns. The warmth continues into Tuesday night, despite clouds rolling in and a low around 54 degrees. Wednesday, things take a turn with a 70% chance of rain and potentially a thunderstorm after 2 pm. The temperature will remain a high near 63 degrees during the day but drop to around 34 degrees at night amidst stormy conditions, as per the NWS' report.
The rest of the week fluctuates, featuring a 30 percent chance of rain on both Thursday morning and Saturday, with mixed conditions of sun and clouds in between. Residents can anticipate the values to climb again after the midweek storm, reaching nearly 60 degrees for the weekend.
In a hazardous weather outlook issued at 3:36 AM EDT, the National Weather Service highlighted the potential for brief heavy rain and localized flooding early this morning but confirms no hazardous weather is expected for the rest of the week. "Spotter activation is not anticipated," according to the Hazardous Weather Outlook, reassuring residents that no severe weather watches will be necessary.
