On Wednesday, the Western Worcester County Major Crimes Task Force arrested two individuals on drug and firearm charges in Cherry Valley, Leicester, following a three-month investigation into the local drug trade. A search warrant led to the discovery of fentanyl, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, nearly $5,000 in cash, and a loaded 9mm handgun, as per the Western Worcester County Major Crimes Task Force Facebook page.
Angel Crespo, 33, and Emily Howe, 27, both from Cherry Valley, were arrested. Crespo faces charges including firearm violations, trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, and having prior drug-related convictions. Howe faces similar charges. Both were arraigned at East Brookfield District Court and held without bail. Additional search warrants were executed on vehicles linked to the case.
The operation involved support from CEMLEC SWAT and K9 units from Leicester, Auburn, and the Massachusetts State Police. A third suspect, a 59-year-old man from New Braintree, will face charges for conspiracy to violate drug laws, with his arraignment scheduled for a later date.
