Attention Livingston Parish drivers: upcoming roadwork might affect your commutes this week. Starting Monday, March 24, 2025, at 8:00 PM, crews will be performing traffic signal work along several major routes, including LA 1031 Southbound, LA 16 Eastbound, LA 16 Westbound, and US 190 Westbound. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) anticipates completion by Friday, March 28, 2025, at 6:00 AM, weather permitting.
While the roadwork is underway, there will be a partial closure of all lanes, but traffic will not be stopped entirely. According to the announcement on DOTD's website, the stretches between Centerville St E and Plymouth St will be affected. Motorists might want to plan for delays in their usual travel schedule or explore alternative routes.
For those looking to avoid the work zone, DOTD has suggested detours. Eastbound US 190 traffic can take LA 3002 south to I-12 East, proceed to LA 1026 North, and then reconnect with US 190. Similarly, vehicles headed west on US 190 can take LA 1026 south, head west on I-12, and then north on LA 3002 to return to US 190. These alternative paths are provided to help facilitate smooth travel around the construction site.
A restriction will be in place for wide loads, which are limited to a maximum width of 12 feet. This constraint should be carefully observed by drivers to ensure a smooth traffic flow and safety within the construction zone. For the latest traffic updates and road conditions, travelers can check the DOTD website, which provides information useful for planning your trips during this period.
