According to the department's social media post, the incident occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Barn Stable Drive, activating the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division.
The details surrounding the events that led to the officer discharging their weapon remain unclear, as the investigation is still in the preliminary stages. What is known, however, is that one person was shot and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. No deputies were harmed during the occurrence, Louisiana State Police have confirmed that, this case is being actively investigated, and additional information will be made available to the public as it becomes available.
