
A tragic shooting in East Garfield Park has left one man dead and a woman critically injured. The incident occurred Saturday night just before 6 p.m., where the victims were discovered in an alley located on the 3500 block of West Polk Street, as stated by the Chicago Police, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The deceased, a 25-year-old man, sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was subsequently transported to Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Eddie Lee Embrey Jr., NBC Chicago reports detailed that the woman, age currently unspecified, was also shot in the head and leg, and she was taken to the same hospital listed in "grave condition."
