Authorities are currently investigating a scene at a bridge construction site in Palmetto Bay where a man was discovered deceased yesterday morning. As reported by NBC Miami, the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was found by a fellow construction worker at around 6:30 a.m. at the Southwest 87th Avenue construction site. Found shirtless in a water-filled ditch, the cause of death is still to be determined as detectives pursue their investigation.
The site, located above the Cutler Drain Canal, quickly became a focal point for both Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies and local residents alike. Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office has tentatively suggested that the incident appears to have been an industrial accident and stated that they do not currently suspect foul play. This information was further affirmed in an alert by the village, according to Local 10.
