A man was shot in the leg yesterday evening in what appears to be an incident that unfolded within Atlanta's tent community. The Atlanta Police Department reports that officers arrived at 381 Pryor St SW at around 7:31 pm in response to a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a 35-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his right leg, who was then transported to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation is still in its early stages, and further details are yet to be confirmed. However, it is known from the police report that the injured man was conscious and breathing when help arrived. The incident took place in an area of the city where many individuals without homes have set up temporary shelters. This area has previously been the site of violence and calls for assistance, although no conclusions can be drawn about any broader trends or causes at this point.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Atlanta Police Department as they continue to work on the case.
