Manchester, NH has been the backdrop of a disturbing sequence of events involving a 34-year-old local man, Scott White, whose actions escalated from an incident of loitering to multiple charges including the alleged threats directed at teenagers with a gun and a Taser. The situation first came to light following a response by the Manchester Police to a suspicious vehicle report at Autofair Honda on Keller St in the early hours of February 21, as shared by the Manchester Police Department on Facebook.
While White was initially charged with loitering and prowling after he was found on the property with juveniles in a car without proper explanation, the ensuing scrutiny brought to light his possession of items like a gun, badge, Taser, and handcuffs, yet further unraveling came about hours after his release on PR bail, around 7:30 a.m., when it was reported that White allegedly aimed a rifle at two teenagers awaiting their school bus, presumably heightening community concerns. In a continuous evolution of the case, detectives discovered that White had allegedly displayed similar aggressive behavior on February 5, going as far as threatening teenagers with a gun and a Taser while following them in his vehicle, which resulted in an arrest warrant being issued.
Last Friday, White was apprehended and slapped with several charges: Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Use of an Electronic Self-Defense Weapon, and Reckless Conduct with a Deadly Weapon for the earlier incidents, topped off with two counts of Criminal Threatening – Deadly Weapon pertaining to the bus stop confrontation, as the Manchester NH Police reported. The court subsequently ordered his detainment on preventative detention.
