Motorists in Medford, expect disruptions with several road and lane closures next month. In a notice released by the City of Medford, extensive construction and utility work will affect several roads, starting today and stretching into April.

Specifically, Hillcrest Road will see its eastbound lane shuttered as Knife River Construction takes to the streets to rebuild the roadway. This is expected for a Public improvement project on behalf of the Southern Oregon Neurosurgery Center starting today until April 10. The closures, running from Foothill Road to Urano Lane, will be active between 8 am and 5 pm, with flaggers guiding the way. Hunter Communications will also orchestrate intermittent lane closures on Black Oak Drive from Acorn Way to Dellwood Avenue while installing new overhead fiber lines starting today until April 10

Meanwhile, West 6th Street, West Barnett Road, and Ohio Street are all under the hammer with Utilities one reestablishing manhole access, Pacific Power planting a new power pole, and Pacific Paving playing savior to the road surface, respectively. The March 10-21 period will see each roadway grapple with intermittent lane closures and, in Ohio Street's case, an eastbound lane closure with an established detour.

The second half of the inconvenience falls on road closures. Springbrook Road, Oakdale Avenue, 11th Street, Angelcrest Drive, and Cloudcrest Drive will experience closures and lane restrictions. The symphony of repairs orchestrated by Knife River crews and Three Dimensional Contracting vary from asphalt to culverts. East Main Street won't escape the nighttime flurry, with Three-Dimensional Construction installing a new storm drain line across the street, prompting eastbound lane closures between 8pm and 6am from starting today until April 10

Last but not least, Portland Avenue is destined for a brief yet full stop, thanks to Three-Dimensional Construction's installation of a new electrical line across the avenue – an initiative expected to culminate in two daytime closures within the dates stated. As Medford gears up for a month of maneuvering through detours and delays, residents and travelers through the town are advised to stay up-to-date on traffic changes and plan their routes accordingly.
