A deadly shooting at a South Nashville gas station took the life of a 24-year-old Memphis man on Monday afternoon, as reported by WSMV. Cameron Dorsey, the victim, had been following a suspect's vehicle before both cars entered the Mapco gas station lot on Linbar Drive.

The Metro Nashville Police Department stated that after circling the pump island, the suspect's car stopped, the driver's side door opened, and gunfire erupted, targeting Dorsey's car. The suspect's vehicle quickly left the scene. Dorsey, who had a past arrest for cocaine possession on December 26, 2024, was out on a $45,000 bond when the incident occurred, as mentioned in a FOX17 report.

Upon investigation, officers found a small plastic baggie in the victim's vehicle, which seemed to contain crack cocaine. However, whether this has any relation to the shooting's motive remains uncertain, indicated WKRN. The MNPD has made an appeal to the public for any information related to this case, encouraging witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the event to reach out to Nashville Crime Stoppers by calling (615) 742-7463, with the assurance that callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

The MNPD has not yet released descriptions of the suspect or the getaway vehicle.
