Burns, 29, was fatally shot outside a Halloween celebration on Terragon Trail, turning what should have been a night of mock frights and friendly faces into a scene of real horror and lasting heartbreak.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, which has been diligently combing through the case since the incident, has determined that Burns was not the intended target of the 1:15 a.m. drive-by shooting that claimed his life. A bullet struck Burns in the head, sealing his fate, and he later succumbed to his injuries at Skyline Medical Center.
The total reward comes from two sources. Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the homicide case. Joshua Burns' family, seeking justice, has matched this amount with an additional $5,000.
