Residents and visitors of Miami Beach are gearing up for a day of culture, art, and community entertainment with the announcement of the city's inaugural Miami Beach Family Day. Scheduled for Saturday, the event promises a slew of free activities designed for all ages. Families can look forward to a day filled with interactive workshops, dance classes, live performances, and more — all across various venues in Miami Beach.
To support the city-wide celebration, the Miami Beach Trolley will provide free rides connecting attendees to various participating locations. This service aims to make the event's schedule more accessible, allowing participants to easily travel between venues.
One of the highlights, as reported by the City of Miami Beach, is a dance session with Miami City Ballet. The class is open to all participants, regardless of dance experience, and features energetic movements to the rhythm of a live musician. The Bass Museum of Art offers early access to The Creativity Center for arts and crafts activities, while The Wolfsonian–FIU presents a focus on glass art, featuring an activity centered on Harry Clarke’s stained-glass masterpiece.
For those interested in the combination of nature and technology, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden features Juraj Kojš’s music exploration with orchids. Later in the afternoon, families and their pets can participate in South Beach’s first pet parade along Ocean Drive, with community activities including adoption opportunities. To wrap up the day, The Miami Beach Bandshell will host a roller disco open to all ages and skill levels, featuring local DJs and skate hosts.
The day concludes with the Miami Beach Pride Family Picnic, featuring bounce houses and games. With a wide range of events, Miami Beach Family Day serves as the start of the city’s seasonal programming.
