Miami Beach will celebrate the grand opening of the newly renovated Maurice Gibb Memorial Park on Thursday next week, featuring a music-themed playground with giant musical instruments and a disco ball. This park honors Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, known for hits like "Stayin' Alive" and "You Should Be Dancing," as per the City of Miami Beach release.
The event will include performances by the Miami Beach High School Rock Ensemble and is expected to attract both locals and music fans. The park's upgrades also include a new dog park, fishing pier, shade structures, native trees, and a living shoreline to help prevent coastal erosion and support local wildlife.
The park’s renovation was funded through the 2018 voter-approved General Obligation Bond. For parking, the Sunset Harbour garage is recommended, with limited meter parking available nearby.
