A tragic incident occurred early this morning when a bus driver on a Miami-Dade County Transit bus fatally shot two male passengers after a disturbance. The incident took place outside a shopping plaza at the intersection of Miami Gardens Drive and Northwest Seventh Avenue, where police soon cordoned off the area, as reported by Local 10.
The Miami Gardens Police Department responded to the situation, which occurred around 3 a.m. The disagreement between the driver and passengers, the cause of which remains unclear, led to the violence. Both victims were airlifted in critical condition to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where they later died, according to NBC Miami.
The identities of the deceased have not been released, with police withholding details pending the notification of next of kin. The bus driver, who was involved in the fatalities, has been detained, and authorities have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed.
