At a time when customer service often falls to the wayside, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is making waves with its initiative to honor the hard work and customer service prowess of its employees. The Department's Pebble Employee Recognition Program is all about giving props to those who excel in serving the community, and the latest batch of standout employees were just celebrated for their efforts.
The ceremony, held to recognize the high-achieving water soldiers, was graced by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and other key figures. Dedicated to both safe water delivery and laudable customer interaction, the Pebble Program highlighted employees for the third and fourth quarters of 2024, as well as the annual winner, according to Miami-Dade County's official news release.
For the third quarter of 2024, the Water Transmission and Distribution Line Division alongside the Wastewater Collection and Transmission Line Division took the spotlight. Dashay Johnson, a W&S Sr. Personnel Specialist, received an honorable mention for her work.
When the fourth quarter of 2024 came to a close, Francisco Alvarez, an Instrument Technician Supervisor, was named the winner, with Julian Osorio, Engineer 1, securing an honorable mention. Capping the year, Edgar Martin, a Plant Electrical Supervisor, nabbed the title of the 2024 Annual Winner, wrapping up a year of commendable efforts in "water and wastewater service," the news release by Miami-Dade County stated.
The WASD isn't just stopping at internal recognition. They're encouraging the community to chip in as well. If you've got a WASD employee in mind who's delivered standout service or innovated to improve the customer experience, they're taking nominations.
