
A hit-and-run incident late last night in Miami left a woman critically injured. According to Local 10 News, the crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Northeast Fifth Court and 79th Street, where a car struck a scooter.
As per the Miami Herald, the two people inside fled the scene. Miami police are asking for information about the individuals who abandoned the vehicle after the collision.
The woman on the scooter was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. Miami Police confirmed she was initially in critical condition but is now reported to be stable. The condition of a second possible passenger on the scooter has not been disclosed, and the driver has not been caught, as reported by WSVN.
Witnesses described the incident, with one witness telling WSVN, "The girl was pulling out on a green light; they ran a red light and ran her over." The same witness also stated that the occupants of the car returned to the scene multiple times before officials arrived, allegedly to retrieve items and evidence. The vehicle was later towed from the scene early this morning.
