A motorcyclist was killed early Friday on the outbound Stevenson Expressway after being struck by a sedan in a tragic overnight incident. According to Chicago Sun-Times, the collision occurred around 1:55 a.m. in the McKinley Park neighborhood; the motorcyclist, having stopped in the middle lane for reasons not detailed, dismounted and was subsequently hit.
The aftermath saw the biker rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The state police reported that the southbound stretch of I-55 lanes would be closed until 6 a.m.
In an earlier dispatch from the scene of the crash, ABC 7 Chicago confirmed the full blockage of the expressway's outbound lanes at Damen Avenue following the incident involving critical injuries.
