The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department is shining the spotlight on an indispensable member of their team this week: Tessa Resko - Kingsley, an Administrative Assistant II known for her unwavering dedication behind the scenes. According to a recent social media post by MFRD, Tessa celebrated her 5th anniversary with the department last October, marking half a decade of service since first joining the team as an Administrative Support Specialist in October 2019.
Tessa, who was promoted to full-time in November 2020, is illustrated as someone who goes above and to simply be "just a secretary." In a quote from MFRD's post, she expresses her passion for her role: "I’m more than 'just a secretary,' I am working purposefully behind the scenes to make things easier for our people on the front lines." Her commitment is not just about doing a job; it's about facilitating the crucial work of firefighters who are out there saving lives every day.
Outside of her professional life, Tessa's interests are as vibrant as her work ethic. She fills her time with travel, festivals, concerts, dancing, photography, and modeling. She's also noted for her love of food, her big parties, and the joy she gets from her two puppies, Ziggy and Henry. While her affection for her pets is clear, her relationship with her cat, Dust Pan, is jokingly described as tolerant.
While Tessa might spend her weekdays ensuring that administrative tasks don't become a bottleneck for those fighting fires and responding to emergencies, her weekends reflect a commitment to make the most out of each moment. Her favorite part of the job resonates with the heart of service, a sentiment shared by many who work in roles away from the public eye but are crucial to organizational success.
