Following a thorough investigation that led to the corners of Battle Road in Murfreesboro, Specialized Investigations Division detectives have arrested 43-year-old Keion Kendrick. Kendrick has been identified as the gunman in the February 24 shooting on Fain Street that left a 34-year-old man with multiple non-fatal leg wounds. According to a Nashville government publication, Kendrick, who has a criminal record, was arrested and has since admitted to his involvement in the incident during a subsequent police interview.
The 34-year-old victim reported that he was on Fain Street when he unexpectedly began to hear gunshots. He then realized he had been shot, and told detectives that the suspect, whom he later identified as Kendrick, approached him under the guise of asking for money, before pistol whipping him and fleeing the scene. The details of the harrowing experience, including Kendrick's identification, were relayed by the victim and noted by police officials.
In 2007 and 2008, Kendrick was convicted on several felony charges, including especially aggravated burglary, two counts of attempted second degree murder, and especially aggravated robbery. His history with the law has once again come to the forefront following this most recent act of violence. This evening, he faces charges of especially aggravated robbery and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
