Chaos erupted on a New Hampshire highway Sunday afternoon when a Somersworth man caused an unexpected traffic disruption. According to reports from the New Hampshire State Police, drivers on Route 16 in Dover were confronted around 3:15 p.m. with a naked man, identified as Shawn P. Weiner Sr., 35, walking amongst the cars. State Troopers and Dover Police Department officers responded to the scene to detain Weiner, who had fled from a prior crash sans clothing.

Traffic was disrupted as drivers swerved to avoid a man, later identified as Weiner, who was reportedly trying to cross the highway. In the time it took for law enforcement to arrive and arrest him, the highway's flow was completely altered. Weiner, taken into custody for more than just public indecency, was found to have fled a nearby crash on Varney Road. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle involved had been reported stolen.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Weiner's crash on Varney Road led him to abandon the vehicle and, for reasons still unclear, his clothing. After being treated for minor injuries at a local hospital, New Hampshire State Police charged him with several misdemeanors, including indecent exposure, lewdness, reckless conduct, two counts of disorderly conduct, and littering. Weiner is scheduled to appear in Dover District Court on May 13, at 8:30 a.m., to face the charges.
