The search intensifies for a suspect involved in the shooting of a 45-year-old father who, while holding his two 7-month-old daughters, was struck by a gunshot on February 8 just outside a Nolensville Pike restaurant in Nashville. WKRN reports that the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has shared fresh surveillance images, hoping to locate the individual driving a 2010-2014 white Ford Flex connected to the incident.
Details of the encounter reveal the father was walking toward a business at 5743 Nolensville Pike when the suspect's vehicle initially made contact. A verbal exchange that followed swiftly turned violent, with the driver pulling a gun and shooting the father in the hip. This altercation took place in the presence of the man's infant daughters, who he was likely to be carrying for protection amidst the chill of the night. According to FOX 17, before the shooting occurred, the suspect left a neighboring Mexican restaurant after meeting another man for dinner, and both proceeded to their separate vehicles.
MNPD is asking for assistance and encourages anyone with information to come forward, reinforcing the potential of anonymity and a cash reward for relevant tips. As mentioned by WKRN, "Anyone with additional information has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463." Detectives are particularly interested in speaking to the diner accompanying the suspect, as he may hold key witness details about the sequence of events leading up to this egregious act.
