Motorists and pedestrians planning to navigate through New Orleans' Exchange Place will need to adjust their routes on Tuesday, March 25. The City of New Orleans has announced a temporary closure of Exchange Place from Canal Street to Iberville Street for road resurfacing. The work, contracted to Boh Bros. Construction Co., is set to take place from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is part of the larger Department of Public Works (DPW) 773 2024 Right of Way (ROW) Improvements Phase 2 Project.
According to a statement from the City of New Orleans, the resurfacing was initially intended to occur on Monday, March 24, but had to quickly be rescheduled due to inclement weather. For those looking to easily get around the work zone, traffic control personnel will be there alongside appropriate signage directing both walkers and drivers safely. This will likely be a brief inconvenience but one that aims to ultimately improve the thoroughfare for future traversing.
This project is part of the City of New Orleans ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance its infrastructure. Those interested in learning more about the updates or other roadway projects can visit the DPW's website at www.nola.gov/dpwprojects or reach out via phone at 504-658-8000 or email through [email protected].
