
The New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that took place yesterday, in the city's Seventh District. As per the NOPD News release, the incident left an adult male dead, adding another chapter to the city's continuing struggle with violent crime.
Officers from the NOPD Seventh District were called to the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard around 5:53 p.m. following reports of a shooting linked to a prior fight. Detectives, arriving at the scene, found the victim inside a vehicle on I-10 East just past Crowder Boulevard, suffering from gunshot wound(s). Declared deceased on the scene, the identity of the victim awaits the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office to determine the official cause of death and notify next of kin.
As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement is in the process of collecting evidence and information to pinpoint the person(s) responsible for this homicide. However, a clear motive for the shooting has yet to be discerned. The NOPD urges anyone with any knowledge that may aid in the investigation to step forward.
