
The New Orleans Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after a man was found dead in a vehicle with gunshot wounds this morning in the Second District. According to a notice published by the New Orleans Police Department News, the grim discovery was made in the 2800 block of Monticello Avenue around 10:32 a.m. when officers responded to reports of an abandoned vehicle.
Once on the scene, they found an unresponsive adult male inside the vehicle and confirmed that the individual had sustained gunshot wound(s). The New Orleans Police Department officials pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. As part of the ongoing investigation, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death and formally identify the deceased.
