Early this morning, a car was found partially submerged in a canal in Miami-Dade County near Southwest 118th Avenue and Eighth Street. Local 10 reported that Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed all occupants had exited the vehicle before emergency services arrived, and no injuries were reported.
NBC Miami showed the car slowly sinking into the canal at SW 8th Street and SW 118th Avenue. The aerial video, taken around 6:30 a.m., showed a man standing by, wrapped in a towel, while first responders worked at the scene. One lane was blocked off during the response.
The cause of the crash is unclear and remains under investigation. The vehicle, which had its sunroof open, was seen in the canal waters. WSVN noted a man standing on the roadside, holding a phone while speaking to someone.
