A vandalized decoy police vehicle in Pembroke Park has led to a search for the suspects, with law enforcement seeking help from the community. CBS News Miami reported that the incident occurred late yesterday afternoon when a group of 90 to 150 individuals, riding ATVs, motorcycles, and dirt bikes, gathered at the RaceTrac Gas Station at 3996 Pembroke Road.
During their stop, three men approached and damaged a Pembroke Park Police decoy cruiser, which is typically used as a crime deterrent. One individual reportedly kicked and shattered the windshield, causing around $1,000 in damage, according to NBC Miami. This incident was part of a larger series of illegal street takeovers happening across South Florida that day.
In addition to the property damage, the group engaged in dangerous behavior, further jeopardizing public safety. Pembroke Park Police emphasized that the entire event was caught on video, which could help identify the suspects.
Law enforcement officials are asking anyone with information about the individuals involved or details related to the street takeovers to contact the Police's Media Relations Office at (954) 374-8639. Tips can also be shared anonymously through Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-8477 (TIPS).
