A fatal stabbing rocked the quiet Hegewisch neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side this past Saturday afternoon. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a 59-year-old man was within his residence located in the 13300 block of South Avenue M when the attacker, someone purportedly known to the victim, assaulted him with a sharp object, inflicting fatal stab wounds to his neck and back.

The incident occurred just past 4:15 p.m. and prompted a swift response from local authorities. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
