The month-long search for a missing Grundy County man ended with the discovery of his remains in a state park, local authorities confirmed. WSMV reported that the remains were found in a wooded area of Fiery Gizzard State Park on yesterday. The Grundy County Sheriff's Office identified the body as 31-year-old Tyler Curtis, who had been missing since late February.
Curtis was last seen walking away from his family home on Pigeon Springs Road in Tracy City. Officials noted that he had a medical condition and needed his medication. While authorities do not suspect foul play, they have not ruled it out. WKRN reported that the sheriff’s office wrote, "The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the Curtis family during this incredibly difficult time," on Facebook.
The search for Curtis involved coordination between several local agencies. Authorities are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is still ongoing, as noted in a Sequatchie Valley Now report.
