San Jose's The Plant Shopping Center is witnessing a renewal of retail confidence as dd's DISCOUNTS prepares to open an 18,045-square-foot store at the bustling intersection of Curtner Avenue and Monterey Road. ConnectCRE reported that the retailer's presence is part of a larger vision by the owners, Milan Capital Management and Arc Capital, to transform The Plant into a prime retail destination.

"We are absolutely delighted to welcome dd’s DISCOUNTS to The Plant," Chris Nichelson, president of Milan Capital Management, expressed according to ConnectCRE. This addition proposes to enhance the center's appeal further, anticipating increased foot traffic owing to dd's DISCOUNTS' strategic location between the future Vallarta Supermarkets and the existing Target.

Further boosting local commerce, the lease by dd’s DISCOUNTS extends the positive trend experienced by the shopping center since its acquisition. "We are definitely seeing a lot of leasing momentum," Chris Nichelson stated in an interview with Silicon Valley. Confirming this enthusiasm, a LinkedIn post by Milan Capital Management celebrated the incoming tenant, emphasizing the store's potential for serving the community with various goods at competitive prices.

The current landscape of The Plant is robust, with Nichelson indicating to Silicon Valley that 93% of the center is pre-leased and 70% occupied. Four smaller spaces, totaling 12,600 square feet, have leases pending, further evidence of active engagement in the retail space marketplace.
