Residents of Ormond and daily commuters through Wildcat Lane are gearing up for another round of adjustments to their travel plans, as the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office informs the community about continuing road work. According to a recent social media update, Wildcat Lane will remain completely closed up through Wednesday, March 12th, necessitating alternative routes for vehicles and school busses alike.

Starting on Wednesday, busses that typically travel along Wildcat Lane will be permitted entry from Ormond, but will be restricted to exiting northbound towards Thomas Colby, aligning with the detour plan that has been previously executed. This diversion is expected to last for seven days to facilitate the completion of the concrete work on Ormond’s southbound travel lane. "This traffic pattern will continue for 7 days until the concrete work on Ormond southbound travel lane is complete," states the Sheriff's Office announcement.

Vehicular traffic which relies on this frequently traversed route will be subject to the same detour, directing southbound motorists to turn right at Thomas Colby and proceed south along Schexnaydre. Residents local to the area will retain the ability to travel south, with the added maneuver of executing a U-turn at one of the cross streets to navigate the obstruction. The Sheriff's Office has confirmed that northbound travel on Ormond will not experience disruption.
