
A tragic incident unfolded on Cranberry Highway in Wareham yesterday, as a 20-year-old motorcyclist from Rochester, MA, lost his life following a collision with a vehicle. The Wareham Police Department has confirmed that officers, along with Wareham Fire and EMS, responded to the scene around 1:55 p.m., where they found the motorcyclist had been ejected from his bike.
Good Samaritans were tending to the young man before law enforcement arrived to assist with medical aid. Despite the immediate efforts, Wareham EMS pronounced the rider deceased on the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a 67-year-old Northbridge resident, stayed at the location following the crash. According to a Facebook post from the Wareham Police Department, the incident is now under thorough investigation.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the involved parties as the investigation by the Wareham Police Department, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) Unit continues.
