The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has forecast a whimsical mix of showers and sunshine for the coming days, as the city grapples with a characteristically fickle spring weather pattern. Residents should prepare for rain showers likely between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today, with the possibility of snow showers mingling in later during the day. While accumulations are expected to be minimal, the high for the day will be a cool 56 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight's forecast includes more showers, primarily before 9 p.m., and a dip to a low around 36 degrees. The subsequent calm after midnight may allow residents some reprieve, yet the current chance of precipitation stands at 60%. Partly sunny skies are on the horizon for Sunday, with temperatures climbing back up to the mid-50s.
However, Monday heralds a 60% probability of showers, mainly after noon, a curtain raiser for a week of unsettled weather. Temperatures are expected to peak at 61 degrees. Monday night will once again invite rain showers, switching to a mix of rain and snow showers, holding a 100% chance of precipitation, albeit with "little or no snow accumulation expected," as noted by the National Weather Service.
Those looking toward Tuesday in anticipation of clearer skies may have to hold onto their umbrellas a bit longer, the forecast predicts rain, shifting to snow showers after 9 a.m. with a high near 46. Amidst the mostly cloudy nighttime atmosphere, there's a specter of snow showers uttering in a low around 32 degrees. Further ahead, Wednesday and Thursday continue the trend with a higher likelihood of snow showers during the daytime and chances of rain and snow showers at night.
