
The Salt Lake City Police Department continues to plead with the public for assistance concerning the cold case homicide of Anetupou Niualiku, who was fatally shot over three years ago, as detailed in a recent statement. In a renewed call for leads, officials have released images of a suspect vehicle, a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Sonata, highlighting the need for community involvement to achieve a breakthrough. No discernible license plate can be seen in the pictures provided, adding to the complexity of the investigation.
On the morning of January 23, 2022, at approximately 9:22 a.m., emergency services received reports of a shooting near 130 South and 800 West in Salt Lake City, the police department explained. Arriving swiftly at the scene, first responders found the 50-year-old Niualiku suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and paramedics, Niualiku's injuries proved fatal.
