A woman was apprehended by the Salt Lake City Police Department's (SLCPD) Bike Squad on suspicion of drug distribution. According to the SLCPD, the suspect was caught in an area with sizable quantities of narcotics in her possession, notorious for its link to criminal activities associated with illicit substances.
The operation, which rolled out near 130 North 800 West on Thursday afternoon, observed 26-year-old Daphne McPeak allegedly engaging in several drug deals. The police detained her and found she had outstanding warrants. During the booking process at Salt Lake County Metro jail, McPeak was charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance alongside her existing warrants.
Documented evidence as per SLCPD's reports includes "a substantial amount of suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl pills, suspected marijuana, and a large amount of cash,” which, according to SLCPD, are signs indicative of a person dealing in illegal drugs. These items were seized as part of the ongoing inquiry into the suspected drug distribution activities.
