Yesterday, a quiet block in San Francisco's Northern District became the scene of a grim discovery. According to a press release by the San Francisco Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 600 block of Larch Alley at around 3:44 a.m.
Upon arrival, SFPD found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. Initial efforts to save the man's life were undertaken by the responding officers, who performed CPR until medics took over. Despite the all-hands-on-deck approach by first responders and hospital staff, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The police department is reaching out to the community for assistance. "Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD," states the official SFPD announcement.
