San Francisco Police Department's Community Violence Reduction Team struck a chord in their fight against citywide violence with a significant seizure last Friday. While on patrol in the Ingleside District, officers noticed a suspicious gathering around a parked car on the 1800 block of Sunnydale Avenue. The group rapidly dispersed as police approached, leading to the discovery of firearms inside the vehicle. The car, harboring illegal cargo, was towed away to enable a thorough search, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department.
A total of five loaded firearms were uncovered. "This is a great example of the work our Community Violence Reduction Team does every day to keep San Francisco safe", Chief Bill Scott proudly announced, praising the diligent efforts of his officers involved in the case, as per the San Francisco Police Department.
No arrests have been made, although the investigation remains wide open. The police are reaching out to the community, urging anyone with any information to contribute to step forward. In a bid to gather more leads, they're calling on the public to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or to anonymously Text a Tip to TIP411 with the message starting with SFPD.
