The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office has shared an update on their latest community engagement initiative with Sheriff Randy Smith and members of his staff attending the Leader Faith Forum at Covington First Baptist Church. The event, which took place on a clear spring morning, focused on bringing together local and state leaders to offer prayers for various aspects of the community and its leaders, as stated in a social media post by the Sheriff's Office.
Facilitated by Dr. Michael Sprague, chaplain for the Capitol Commission, which underscores the often unspoken spiritual dimensions of public service, the forum included prayers for the upcoming legislative session, law enforcement, first responders, members of the military, our schools and families, and by extension our senators, representatives, local business leaders, and local government officials.
The leaders gathered there were committed to this intersection of faith and civic duty; they were blessed and sent forth to continue their service with a renewed sense of purpose.
