Singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been found guilty of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud in a federal trial. According to the NBC Miami, the jury reached its verdict after less than four hours of deliberation. The charges relate to a scheme in which the pair allegedly obtained over $1 million in luxury goods through fraudulent means.

Kingston and Turner were accused of using fake documents to make purchases from several businesses, including a $285,000 watch and a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade. Turner has been taken into custody as a flight risk, following her testimony.

As per a Local 10 report, Kingston, visibly emotional, cried after the verdict and urged federal agents to "protect my mother." Despite his defense arguing that Kingston lacked understanding of finances, the jury found sufficient evidence of fraud. Sentencing for both is set for July 11.
