A St. Bernard Parish man has been taken into custody on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material and sexually abusing an animal. In late 2024, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP-SVU) launched an investigation into the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Arthur Terry of Meraux, Louisiana State Police reported.
Following months of investigation, on Thursday, law enforcement officers executed search, and arrest warrants at Terry's residence. The investigation culminated in Terry's arrest. He is facing charges for 11 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving victims under the age of 13, and one count of sexual abuse of an animal. According to the official press release by the Louisiana State Police, there is no additional information available because the investigation is active and ongoing.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by authorities to address crimes involving the exploitation of children. Terry, who was booked into the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Prison, has not had a bond set or a court date assigned at the time of this reporting.
Cases involving child sexual abuse material often include young victims. The additional charge of sexual abuse of an animal is also under investigation. Law enforcement agencies handle these cases by identifying suspects and supporting victims.
