A tragic scene unfolded in the Avon neighborhood, as a 53-year-old woman was found dead with visible injuries in her home yesterday. Law enforcement officials were summoned to Nichols Ave late in the afternoon following a 911 call concerning an unresponsive female who required medical attention. Upon arrival, personnel discovered the woman's body displaying signs of inflicted trauma and a surrounding disarray pointing to a violent altercation, as The Boston Globe reported.
The investigation, spearheaded by the Norfolk District Attorney's Office and the Avon Police, swiftly progressed as detectives gathered crucial insights. A suspect was narrowed down and, by about 8 p.m., authorities had made an arrest with the collaborative efforts of the Braintree police, and, the participation of other neighboring community police units.
